Part 1 - Childhood to Operation Deep FreezeTom Henderson"Gus" Shinn was a well-respected Navy pilot who began his aviation career during World War II as a transport pilot on C47 aircraft and subsequently participated in Operation Highjump and the first three seasons of Operation Deep Freeze. He was the first pilot to land an aircraft at the geographic South Pole, the famous 'Que Sera Sera.' This recording was made on January 4, 2015. LCDR Shinn passed away on May 22, 2025 at the age of 102.Click Here
